Glen Oaks baseball made the trip north Saturday for the road half of their baseball series against Kalamazoo Valley. Saturday’s games were a split with a 7-1 Viking victory in game one and 8-0 Cougar win in game two.
Aaron Boyer of South Haven had the complete game victory for GOCC in the first game, striking out 14 and allowing only three hits and one unearned run. Mattawan’s Jacob Boyd had three hits, including a solo home run. Andrew Piloske doubled twice and singled with two runs scored.
In the second game, Lakeview graduate Jared Plane tossed a no-hitter for the Cougars, allowing only two walks and striking out seven.
With the weekend’s results, the Vikings are 5-11 in the MCCAA Western Conference with the Cougars at 4-12. Overall, Glen Oaks is 6-27 and Kalamazoo Valley is 5-15. The Vikings host Grace Christian College Tuesday and the Cougars travel to Ancilla next Friday.
