The Constantine boys track and field team and the Centreville girls squad claimed championships Saturday at the Centreville Invitational.
The Falcons’ Wyatt Alwine picked up first-place points in the 110-meter hurdles (16.07) and a runner-up effort in the 300 hurdles (41.7). He joined Guy Topolski, Ian Hulett and Hunter Bacheller in the mile relay (3:40.36) for second place. Topolski, Josh Mathews, Gage Ensign and Bacheller teamed up for a victory in the 3200 relay (9:03.93). Trenton Stears added a second-place performance in the discus (131-11), while Alwine and DaVonte Conley went 1-2 in the pole vault with heights of 13-0 and 10-6, respectively.
For Centreville, Tyler Overholt won the discus (153-11) and and the shot put (44-3.75).
Andrew Smolarz earned a win in the long jump for Colon (17-7), Mendon’s Josh Harold was the top finisher in the high jump at 6-0 and teammate Charlie Newburry was first in the 3200 (11:10.01), and White Pigeon’s 4×100 relay team of Carlos Castro, Gustavo Castro, Dylan Carper and Collin Mayville won in 46.60. Carlos Castro captured first place for the Chiefs in both the 100 (11.88) and 200 (23.67).

The host Lady Bulldogs cruised to a championship with a total of five event victories. Danielle Stauffer turned in the best long jump of the day at 14-8, Samara Schlabach took first in the pole vault (8-0) and Madison Schrader’s mark of 90-8 in the discus was the best of the invite. The Bulldogs’ 800 relay team of Avian Younts, Gabrielle Bowen, Samara Schlabach and Danielle Stauffer recorded a winning time of 1:54.07. Bowen was the fastest finisher in the 100 with a time of 13.51.
Adding runner-up points were Danielle Stauffer (200 and 400), Asia Pratel (800), Gabrielle Schlabach (3200), Bowen (100 hurdles), Samara Schlabach (300 hurdles), the 400 relay team, the 3200 relay team and Madison Schrader (shot put).
White Pigeon’s Claycee West took first in the 200 (28.41) and the 400 (1:03.68), Emma Pachay of Marcellus won the 800 (2:35.06), Peyton Nabozny of Climax-Scotts crossed the line first in the 1600 (5:36.77) and the 3200 (12:21.91), Constantine’s Hannah Outlaw won the 100 hurdles (16.49), teammate Cassie McNamara claimed first in the 300 hurdles (51.88), and the Falcons foursome of Debbie Wilson, Outlaw, Emilee Miller and McNamara won the 400 relay in 54.93. The Marcellus quartet of Mackenzie Buck, Amy Steinkraus, Savannah Lowery and Emma Pachay won the mile relay in 4:30.11. Pachay, Steinkraus, Ellie Tone and Shoka Mitsunaga came together for Marcellus to win the 3200 relay (10:35.93). Constantine’s Lilly Stears’ mark of 32-7.50 was the best of the day in the shot put, and Mackenzie Buck of Marcellus won the high jump at 4-10.
