Eight football teams from St. Joseph, Kalamazoo, and Cass counties entered the weekend for district championship 11-player games and regional championship eight-player games. Portage Northern 31, Forest Hills Central 6
-The Huskies (10-1) are back-to-back district champs for the first time in school history, knocking out the Rangers (8-3). PN has a chance at revenge as they host Mona Shores (9-2) in a rematch of last year’s regional final
Edwardsburg 16, Zeeland West 2
-The Eddies keep their title repeat hopes alive with 24 consecutive victories, eliminating the Dux (9-2). Edwardsburg (11-0) hosts DeWitt (9-2) in the regional final.
Kalamazoo United 36, Hopkins 20
-United’s incredible turnaround gives them back-to-back district titles, eliminating the Vikings at 9-2. The Titans (7-4) travel to Lansing Catholic (10-1) next week.
Hillsdale 20, Constantine 14
-Unbeaten Hillsdale ends Constantine’s year at 8-3. The Hornets host Onsted up next.
Schoolcraft 47, Lawton 10
-The Eagles (10-1) travel to defending state champ Lumen Christi in the regional final next week. Lawton ends at 10-1.

Reading 28, Cassopolis 6
-The Rangers see their season end at 10-1. Reading moves to 10-1 and hosts Lenawee Christian in the regional final.
8-PLAYER DIVISION 1
Colon 56, Martin 12
-The Magi stay unbeaten at 11-0 and host defending state champ Morrice in a rematch of last year’s semifinal. Martin closes at 10-1.
8-PLAYER DIVISION 2
Climax-Scotts 34, Onekama 22
-The Panthers claimed their first regional title since 2007, knocking out the Portagers (7-4). Climax-Scotts will travel to unbeaten Portland St. Patrick for semifinal play.
