Edwardsburg rolled into Three Rivers Friday night and just kept on rolling en route to a 40-22 victory to remain undefeated and climb to 2-0 in the Wolverine Conference West Division.
The Eddies carved out over 300 rushing yards. Led by Dylan Hulett’s 152, behind a powerful offensive line. Edwardsburg had a 22-8 halftime lead before Three Rivers (3-2, 1-1) quarterback Alex Cottingham scored on a five-yard run with 4:02 to play in the third quarter. The Eddies scored three touchdowns in the final frame, breaking the Wildcats’ back with a 55-yarder for a TD by Hulett with 4:07 remaining and Brett Boman’s second score of the game from a yard out 56 seconds later.
Cottingham completed 7 of 17 passing attempts for 57 yards, but three interceptions proved costly. Ray King rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries, and Bailey Miholer-Wortinger added 31 yards and a pair of scores on 5 takes.
Greg Geist led the Wildcats with 12 tackles, followed by Trevor Keo (six) and Brandon Verway (five).
