It was an impressive come-from-behind victory for Gull Lake Wednesday in the Division 1 district volleyball tournament as the Blue Devils rallied from a 2-0 deficit to sweep the final three games against Coldwater. Gull Lake ended up winning the semifinal match 13-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-11 to set up a championship match Saturday against Lakeview, who swept Battle Creek Central in three games in the other semifinal.
Over in Marcellus in Division 3, Constantine topped White Pigeon in three games and Centreville did the same versus Cassopolis in semifinal play. The two St. Joseph County squads will face off Thursday at 6 p.m. for a district title. In Division 4, Mendon beat Kalamazoo Heritage Christian in three games at Decatur. The host Raiders knocked off Marcellus Howardsville Christian to advance to the championship against the Hornets at 6 p.m. Thursday.
