Sturgis traveled to Harper Creek Saturday to compete in baseball District #47. The Trojans faced the hosting Beavers in the second semifinal and fell in a 2-1 pitching duel.
Brayden Webb brought in Brendan Bundy in the first inning for the lone Sturgis run. Harper Creek was able to get two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and hold on from there.
The Trojans finish with a record of 18-10. Vicksburg ended up claiming the district championship, defeating Three Rivers 7-1 in their semifinal, followed by an 11-1 blowout of the Beavers in the championship.
