Sixth-ranked Parchment fended off a solid challenge from Constantine Tuesday as the Panthers won 7-2 at home in a district baseball first round contest.
Parchment had the opening run in the second but fell behind 2-1 after the third after a Brayden Clark two RBI double.
Aaron Jasiak pitched the final four innings in relief for the Panthers and allowed only one baserunner while striking out six. Parchment scored thrice in the fourth to reclaim the lead.
Owen Kovl doubled and singled for two runs with a RBI for the Panthers.
Parchment improves to 28-3 and heads to the district #79 semifinal Saturday at 10 a.m. against the host Centreville. The other side of the bracket has Schoolcraft and Comstock.
Constantine closes the 2021 season with a 16-13-1 record.
