Del Newell on Mendon football

November 14, 2013 By Wes Morgan

Legendary, former prep sports writer Del Newell, who spent 38 years at the Kalamazoo Gazette and whose “Gus the Guesser” column was a favorite among readers, sat down with JoeInsider.com’s Wes Morgan to talk about Mendon football and head coach John Schwartz, who holds the highest winning percentage (.866) in Michigan history. The No. 2 Hornets host No. 6 Muskegon Catholic Central (9-2) Saturday in the Division 8 regional finals.
