The Constantine boys track and field team defeated visiting Galesburg-Augusta Thursday 118-18 to start the 2014 season. The Lady Falcons held on for a 75-61 victory.
Winning all but two events, the boys squad fell short of a clean sweep only in the shot put and discus.
David Jones, Joey Steiner, Randy Waterman and Daniel Waterman took first in the 3200 relay in 9 minutes, 26.25 seconds. Taylor Reiff claimed a win in the 100-meter dash (11.4) and the quartet of Matt Hasbrouck, Damon Manning, Reiff and Trey Harness won the 800 relay in 1:40.37.
Jones captured a victory in the mile (4:54), Hasbrouck, Manning, Jeremiah Schrock and Perry White crossed the line first in the 400 relay (49.51), Harness won the 400 (58.34) and Jon Carpenter took the top spot in the 300 hurdles (48.69).
Daniel Waterman took first place in the 800 (2:31.18), Reiff won the 200 (24.2), and Jones blew the field away by nearly two minutes in the 3200 (10:32.29). The Waterman brothers, along with Miller and Harness, turned in a 4:01.66 in the mile relay.
Daniel Waterman was victorious again in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, White measured in at 16-7 in the long jump. Andy Waterman wrapped up a win in the high jump at 5-3.
