Constantine runners Jones and Hartley advance to state finals

October 26, 2013 By Wes Morgan

The Constantine boys cross country team placed fifth overall at Saturday’s Division 3 regional in Portage. The Falcons missed qualifying the state finals by two spots. Watervliet (67 points), Bridgman (83) and Schoolcraft (93) claimed the three qualifying positions.

Senior Dave Jones’s time of 16:53 was good enough for fifth place overall and an individual trip to Michigan International Speedway next Saturday, as was junior Isaac Hartley’s ninth-place performance (17:18). Junior Ezra Amstutz was 42nd (18:47), freshman Tim Kinney was 45th (19:11) and Noah Beegle placed 48th (19:14).

The Falcons girls were 12th overall, led by Tielar Faulkner’s time of 22:53, which put her in 41st place.
