Constantine’s volleyball team made a semifinals push Saturday at the Watervliet Tournament and lost to Decatur 21-25, 18-25. The Falcons split with New Buffalo and defeated South Haven before losing in the first collision with Decatur in pool play.
Coach Niki Tulley’s squad edged Brandywine 25-23, 25-22 to start Gold Bracket play.
Cassie Wentela churned out 70 assists, Danica Lucas posted 23 kills and 25 digs, Zoe Jones, and Lexie Harrison and Michelle Smith had 18 kills to lead the Falcons. Kelsey Potter added 21 digs, Wentela served three aces, Lucas had four aces, Harrison registered 20 digs, Jessica Mallo spiked 17 kills and had four blocks and Jordan Smith added 12 kills.
“The girls did a lot of great things today, but we also had too many moments that lacked intensity,” Tulley said. “When our game is on, it’s really on, so we are focusing on maintaining our momentum and playing consistent.”
