Hackett Catholic Central escaped with a 55-53 road win Friday at Constantine.
Hackett missed a free throw with three seconds remaining and Constantine threw up a desperation shot that missed its mark.
Three days earlier, Constantine gave up 71 points to the Fighting Irish on the road in defeat, so coach Chuck Frisbie was pleased with his squad’s defensive effort.
Jack Dales and Dane Preston led Hackett with 19 and 16 points, respectively.
Perry White posted 19 points and Cody Ley finished with 12 for Constantine, which is now 0-11. Luhk Mullendore chipped in nine points, Anthony Bontrager totaled seven and Joey Steiner produced six.
Bongrager led the Falcons with eight assists, Ley grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds and White secured seven boards.
Constantine turned the ball over 21 times, connected on 16 of 45 field-goal attempts and was 6-for-15 from behind the arc.
“[We] controlled the game in the first half,” Frisbie said. “Turnovers and poor shot selection were our downfall in the second half. We’re all frustrated being in every game but two in the fourth quarter … getting closer to knowing how to do it.”
