Constantine boys basketball team loses to Marcellus in opener

Constantine dropped its boys basketball season opener at home Monday, 60-50, against Marcellus.

Matt Garcia scored 18 points and Joe Shelton had 15 to lead the Wildcats, which got a double-digit boost from Todd Shelly (11).

Constantine was led by Joey Steiner, who poured in 22 points. Cody Ley added 15 and secured a game-high 12 rebounds. Steiner and Perry White each finished with three steals and Perry added six boards.

Constantine is back in action Friday at home against Olivet.
