Constantine baseball leaves Maple Valley without a win

Host Maple Valley got a 9-4 victory in the first game of a baseball doubleheader with Constantine, and the second game was called due to darkness at a 5-5 tie after five innings. constantine_baseball_280x150

Zack Sherman took the loss after going 3 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits. He struck out five batters and walked four. Bruce Heslet entered the game in the fourth and gave up six hits and five earned runs.

Heslet, Dustin Spencer and Nick West each had singles.

West was on the mound in Game 2 for the Falcons, giving up four earned runs on no hits. He walked six batters and struck out seven. Cody Ley (single), Mike Morey (two singles), Luhk Mullendore (two singles), Sherman (single) and Spencer (single) all had hits.
