Comstock grabbed two non-conference baseball wins Wednesday at Kalamazoo Christian. The Colts rallied in game one for an 11-9 win after eight innings, then took game two 10-6. Both games were victories on the mound for senior Cole Mollohan, who split eight and 2/3 innings pitching between the two contests.
The Colts built up a 4-1 advantage after the top of the fourth inning, but the Comets exploded with eight runs in the bottom half on six hits and two walks. Comstock starting pitcher Evan Caswell finished with eight hits and nine runs against him after four. K-Christian’s Wyatt Steensma also went four innings, allowing six hits and four runs (one earned).
Mollohan took over in the fifth for the Colts and pitched four shutout innings, surrendering only two hits. Comstock chipped away at the Comet bullpen and took advantage of fielding woes. The Colts tied the game with a three-run sixth, using one hit, three walks, an error, and a hit-by-pitch.
In the eighth, Branden Willis (single) and Jared Plane (double) got into scoring position. After a walk loaded the bases, a hit-by-pitch and another walk brought in the go-ahead runs.
Offensively, the Colts had three-hit games by TJ Reilly and Sage DeCamp. Reilly also drew two walks and had two RBI. Jack Kendall, Caleb Howard, and Willis each scored twice. For K-Christian, Derek McClure scored twice on a triple and single. Chris Terpstra picked up three hits and had a three-RBI double. JJ Gasaway also notched three RBI.

KC’s Chris Terpstra allowed six hits, eight runs (four earned) in his three inning start, followed by two innings from Derek McClure with five hits and two earned runs.
