Colon volleyball slips against Hillsdale Academy

September 18, 2013 By Wes Morgan

The Colon varsity volleyball team visited Hillsdale Academy Tuesday and lost the Southern Central Athletic Conference match 12-25, 16-25, 15-25.

MaKayla Craun had two aces, two kills and two blocks, while Tally Wilson had three kills, a block and 29 passes to target to lead the Magi. Isabel Vigil added five kills and an ace. Coley Clemens added eight assists, four kills and a block.

“Hillsdale did a good job of off-speed and roll shots to open areas, and unfortunately we took too long to read that tonight,” Colon coach Crystal Delp said. “They are also a very scrappy team and we are hoping to meet up with them again.

“Our serving was off tonight, usually we have a lot more aces on the stats, and we were unusually low in our intensity. We have things to work on in the next week and a half until our next contest.”
