After starting the season 0-5, Colon’s girls basketball team is riding a two-game winning streak after Monday’s 27-18 victory at Litchfield.
The Magi improved to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in Southern Central Athletic Association play. Makayla Craun’s double-double of 14 points and 19 rebounds carried the Magi, which outscored Litchfield 10-1 in the second quarter to build a 16-4 halftime lead.
Anessa Broker posted five points and four assists, Taya Bower added three points and six boards, Kali Tyler added three points and a pair of rebounds, Skyler Harvey netted two points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Ashleigh Wolf and Greta Minor both contributed two rebounds.
“[Feels] good,” Broker said. “I’m hoping that we can step it up the next upcoming games and keep the streak going.”
Litchfield dropped to 0-6.
