Colon claims SCAA win over Jackson Christian

September 12, 2013 By Wes Morgan

Colon’s volleyball team rebounded from a difficult loss to Centreville Monday night with a three-game victory over Southern Central Athletic Association foe Jackson Christian 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Magi coach Crystal Delp said there wasn’t a ton of net action, and that her team was able to pile up points with effective serving that produced 24 aces. Isabel Vigil and Caitlyn Clipfell each had five aces to lead the team. Tally Wilson produced five kills and two blocks and MaKayla Craun added four kills and a stuff. Coley Clemens distributed six assists and Bailey Fisher added five.

Union City is next up on the slate.

“The girls had a hard time getting themselves keyed up after our very intense game versus Centreville Monday night, but they got the job done in three and didn’t draw it out like we have in other matches,” Delp said.
