With seven 3-pointers in the first quarter, the visiting Colon boys basketball team steamrolled Hillsdale Academy Monday 63-30.
Brad Brittingham knocked down four triples in the opening frame on his way to 19 points. Tyler Schipper, who finished with nine points, connected on two shots from behind the arc in the first quarter. Brett Prell and Corey Collins each posted seven points.
Colon improved to 2-1 with the victory.
Mike Flick added six points, Spencer Smolarz and Logan Vaughn chipped in four apiece, Gabe Keely contributed three and Brandon Hinkley and Bailey Tyler each finished with two. Tyler and Keely paced the team with five rebounds and Smolarz registered four assists and four steals.
