Coldwater’s girls took care of the basketball and forced 18 Sturgis turnovers in a 37-22 home victory Friday.
The Trojans (1-7, 1-4 SMAC) shot 8-for-33 from the field, which included Nikki Nelson’s 6-for-10 effort en route to a game-high 13 points. She added eight rebounds for Sturgis, which finished with a 30-24 advantage on the glass.
Marissa Parker recorded four points, Kayla Nichols had two, Gretchen Inman added two and Rachel Anderson scored one for Sturgis. Anderson grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots, Inman secured six boards and Parker posted three steals.
Kenzie Galloway paced the Cardinals (3-4, 1-3) with 15 points.
