A one-point lead at halftime turned into a 10-point deficit by the end of the third quarter for a Burr Oak boys basketball team that went on to drop a 83-70 SCAA contest Tuesday at Climax-Scotts.
“We played tough for first 16 minutes tonight, but came out flat after halftime,” Bobcats coach Dave Brackett said. “We turned the ball over too much and it led to easy transition baskets for them. We can’t expect to win if we don’t take care of the ball. We don’t have time to think about this one; we have Hillsdale Academy coming in on Thursday.”
Burr Oak slipped to 9-5 overall and 6-5 in the league.
Chantz Owens led the Bobcats with 22 points, Christian Eckert finished with 12 and Logan Mount netted 11. Kenny Walston pitched in nine points, Brent Everitt had seven, Justin Mullins chipped in six and James Saylor registered three.
Burr Oak outrebounded the Panthers 28-23, with Mount snagging seven. Eckert passed out 10 assists and connected on three triples.
