Climax-Scotts’ girls basketball team went to Burr Oak Monday and handed the Bobcats a 53-30 loss.
The Panthers jumped out to a 22-3 lead after the first eight minutes and coasted the rest of the way.
“We had some communication problems in the first quarter that put us down big, but we kept fighting,” Burr Oak coach Jennifer Sutton said. “We did a nice job rebounding. Jade Summey led with 10 and Hannah Root followed with nine.”
Mary Smith totaled 20 points for Climax-Scotts (7-5). Michaela Ultz led the Bobcats with 10 points, Jade Lown and Summey each tallied six, Chelsea Boyd had four, and Root and Ariel Schwemer finished with two each.
