Emma Herr scored eight of her 12 points in the first quarter Wednesday to push Schoolcraft to a 52-28 Class C district semifinal win versus Schoolcraft at Lawton.
The Eagles boasted a 16-6 advantage after the first quarter and it was smooth sailing the rest of the way.
Centreville finished the year with a 4-15 record. Schoolcraft (11-11) will play Decatur, which beat White Pigeon 45-24 in the other semifinal game, in Friday’s championship.
Bailee May led the Bulldogs with eight points and seven rebounds. Madison Hunter scored seven points, and Becky Clementz, Catherine Rigby and Faith Morell finished with four each. Morell added six rebounds and Rigby recorded three assists.
“Tonight wasn’t our night,” Centreville coach Jill Peterson said. “Schoolcraft came out of the gate strong and we were stuck playing catch-up the rest of the game. We’ll continue to work this offseason and hopefully come back a completely different team next November.”
