Centreville girls finish off Eau Claire

February 9, 2014 By Wes Morgan

Centreville’s defense held the host team to two points in the third quarter and the Bulldogs went on to close the book on a 35-30 win Saturday at Eau Claire in girls hoops.

Madison Hunter and Jenna Beeker both netted nine points, and Rudie Crawford Faith Morell and Bailee May posted four apiece. Mattie Kirby and Becky Clementz scored two points and Annmarie Reed added one.

May led the team with eight rebounds, Morell registered five, Catherine Rigby produced three steals and three assists, Beeker finished with two steals and Clementz chipped in four assists.

“After a slow start tonight, we fought our way back to finish the game and come out with the win” Coach Jill Peterson said. “As the season is quickly winding down, we’ll continue to learn and improve each day for the last couple weeks and will hopefully peak right as the tournament arrives.”
