Centreville’s offense fizzled in the second half of a 57-36 home loss to Decatur.
The Raiders outscored the Bulldogs 29-14 in the second half and the Cerven sisters, Lexi and Lilly, combined for 39 points.
Faith Morell led the Bulldogs with 12 points, including seven in the second quarter. Bailee May produced seven points, eight rebounds and three blocks, and Madison Hunter contributed four points. Jenna Beeker, Catherine Rigby and Becky Clementz provided three points apiece.
Charity Yeager and Mattie Kirby had two points each. Morell and Rigby secured five rebounds, Hunter was credited with four assists, and Clementz and Rudie Crawford also finished with three assists.
“Tonight we had good and bad moments,” Centreville coach Jill Peterson sad. “We didn’t play our best and Decatur played a great game. With a stronger mindset and the right execution it could have been a much closer game. When we check into the game, we must check in 100 percent physically and mentally. We can’t leave anything on the bench.”
Decatur’s Cerven sisters combined for 39 points.
