Centreville’s girls basketball team slipped to 1-2 this season following a 57-22 defeat Friday at Athens (2-0).
Bailee May recorded team highs for points (nine), rebounds (four), steals (two) and blocks (two) for the Bulldogs, followed by Madison Hunter’s six points and two assists. Catherine Rigby added three points and a pair of boards, Annmariee Reed chipped in two points and a rebound and Mattie Kirby posted a point and two assists. Madison Eazsol collected one rebound and Dezarae Marshall had one steal.
The Bulldgos trailed 5-4 heading into the second quarter but things went south in a hurry when Athens outscored Centreville 21-6 in the second frame.
Centreville head coach Jill Peterson did not provide any comments and has instituted a no-media policy for her players.
