After scoring 34 points in the opening quarter, any drama that was present at the start of the night Tuesday in Centreville quickly disappeared as the host boys varsity basketball team crushed Eau Claire 84-30 in a Southwest 10 Conference game.
Hayden Stauffer had 30 points for the Bulldogs, Ross Hunter scored 15, Kyzer Bowen finished with 12 and McClain Lemings had 10. Sam Todd pitched in six points, Jacob Larrison and Nick Weber both totaled four, and Justus Chupp finished with three.
“Our goal coming back after our long break was to come out and play with intensity on both ends of the floor and execute the offense,” Centreville coach Mike Hunter said. “We played well, decreased our turnovers from previous games and were able to work as a team to get the win.”
Hunter led the team with nine rebounds, Stauffer had eight and Todd grabbed seven. Hunter also paced the Bulldogs with six assists, while Todd and Weber logged five each.
