Centreville broke through for its first win of the season Friday, and it took some bonus time to get in the win column. The Bulldogs’ Zach Bauman rushed for the winning score in overtime to push his team to a 26-20 victory at Tri-Unity.
“Everybody took their turn coming up huge for us,” Centreville coach Aaron Hartong said. “Bauman was putting a hurt on people, collapsing two facemasks on his helmet during the game. Bauman added another TD earlier in the contest.
The Bulldogs got a boost on the ground from Demarco Taylor, who “ripped off some huge runs,” Hartong said. Zach Teadt and Nick Kelley shined defensively and helped top Tri-Unity’s overtime possession. Teadt knocked the ball loose from a receiver in the end zone and Kelley swatted a pass from the middle linebacker position.
Teadt and Taylor both scored touchdowns for the Bulldogs, which did not report final statistics after the game.
