The Centreville baseball team started off the 2014 season strong, defeating Colon 10-0 in six innings at home Wednesday to advance to the St. Joseph County Tournament.
“Jordan Gest was a monster on mound; he dominated the whole game.” Bulldogs coach Mike Webster said.
Gest didn’t allow a hit in six innings.
Centreville not only had a strong defensive outing but it also came alive at the plate, earning two runs in the first inning, plating one in the fourth and jumping on the Magi for five in the fifth.
Leading the Bulldogs at the plate was Geoff Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Right behind him was Michael Kool with two hits and Nick Kelley and Brady Reynolds added one each.
“It was a good way to start off the season but we gotta move on to the next game,” Kool said. “We didn’t do some of the little things right tonight and if we want to keep winning games we have to do them right.”
