Cassopolis and White Pigeon both entered week six’s affair unbeaten and tied for the top spot in the Southwest 10 Conference. By the night’s end, the Rangers established themselves as the undisputed top dog in the league with a 41-0 road win over the Chiefs.
The first two Cassopolis touchdowns came on their first three plays from scrimmage with runs of 65 and 60 yards. Mason Polomcak picked up three rushing touchdowns with 108 yards just on his scores alone.
The Rangers also smothered White Pigeon defensively, holding them to 90 rushing yards. Cassopolis also added a fumble return touchdown and pick-six to their scores via the Hart brothers.
The Chiefs saw 55 rushing yards from Anthony Rubio. Kobie DeBruine had nine tackles and Colin Mayville added eight.
Now 6-0, Cassopolis clinches a playoff spot for the seventh straight year and 14th time in 15 years. They host Bloomingdale (1-5) in week seven. With the bottom three teams in the standings remaining, back-to-back league titles are within sight for the Rangers.
