The deck was full of aces for Burr Oak’s volleyball team Tuesday night in a 25-13, 25-22, 25-12 victory over Tekonsha. The Bobcats dealt 23 of them to improve to 9-4 on the season.
Setter Brooke Cooper served up a team-high eight aces to go with 10 assists and two kills. Michaela Ultz and Chelsey Boyd each finished with seven aces. Ultz also posted seven kills, two blocks and five digs, and Boyd added a pair of kills and six digs in the effort.
Sydney Owens registered four kills from the left side and a dig, Jade Lown chipped in three digs, Jade Summey has an ace, four kills and a dig, Tori Everitt finished with six digs, Jasmine Patton recorded two points and Madi Adams added two kills and two digs.
“Tonight’s game was pretty much a serving game for us,” Burr Oak coach Kris Owens said. [Tekonsha] had a hard time getting to the ball. Senior Michaela Ultz had zero errors at the net and led the team in kills. Chelsey Boyd picked her game up tonight, digging up some wild balls and saving some badly played passes. Summey and Owens had a sluggish night until the third set, where they recorded all of their kills. Brooke Cooper had a solid night all-around.”
