Home team Bellevue pushed the Burr Oak boys basketball team to two overtimes Wednesday night, but the Bobcats pushed back in the second extra frame to claim a 73-70 victory.
Burr Oak shot 46 percent from inside the 3-point line and was led by Christian Eckert’s 27 points. He knocked down four triples and finished with four assists and three rebounds.
Logan Mount (15 points), Chantz Owens (12) and Kenny Walston (11) reached double figures, Brent Everitt chipped in six and James Saylor contributed two. Mount led the team with seven boards.
“Our defense struggled in the first quarter tonight starting the second game of a back-to-back,” Burr Oak coach Dave Brackett said. “But we locked down for the next three quarters and two overtimes to come out with a win against a very good opponent. We hit our free throws tonight and that made the difference for us. We still need to stop forcing the ball on offense and let the flow come to us. I am very proud how my boy played tonight. But got to put this one behind us because we have a tough Jackson team coming in on Friday.”
