Burr Oak’s volleyball team was dealt a double dose of disappointment Thursday at Southern Central Athletic Association opponent Camden-Frontier’s gym, losing a double-header.
The Bobcats took the first set of the first match 25-20, but dropped the next four games to the Redskins 18-25, 10-15, 8-25, 22-25.
“We came out strong tonight, and all of the sets except one provided an exciting night for spectators,” Burr Oak coach Kris Owens said. “Both teams were digging and hitting like crazy, but Camden was able to make key plays where we could not.”
Brooke Cooper netted 21 points and spread out 13 assists, Michaela Ultz had 16 points and six kills, Sydney Owens finished with 14 points and 10 digs and Jade Summey posted 11 digs to lead the Bobcats.

“They have an all-around good program and I have said all year they are one of the better teams in the league,” Owens added. “I am proud of my team. Jade Summey got sick at the end of match one, but with true senior drive, was able to pull it together for the second set. When she is out, the tempo on the floor changes dramatically; the other girls need her voice.”
