A trio of double-digit scorers pushed the Burr Oak boys basketball team to an 87-48 victory Friday over SCAA opponent Litchfield.
With a 31-26 lead at halftime, the Bobcats put on a fireworks show in the third quarter, outscoring Litchfield 37-16.
Kenny Walston finished with 26 points to lead the way for Burr Oak (12-5), with Christian Eckert dumping in 17 on top of a school-record 11 steals, and Brent Everitt posting 12 points.
“We played a good defensive game tonight but we really tightened down in the second half tonight,” Bobcats coach Dave Brackett said. “We came out and executed our game plan. We made our easy layups and hit our open shots. Eckert broke the single-game steals record tonight. We locked up our division with the win also. It was a great game tonight by the whole team.”
Seven others made offensive contributions for Burr Oak, which collected 42 rebounds and finished 22-for-36 at the foul line. Logan Mount notched eight points, James Saylor and Chantz Owens each pitched in six and Justin Mullins finished with four. Cole Summey and Alex Munoz had three apiece and Kenny Trouten added two.
Everitt grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds, followed by Walston (seven) and five each by Summey, Munoz and Mullins.
