Burr Oak’s girls basketball team regained the lead in the fourth quarter to preserve a 34-33 victory Thursday at Will Carleton Academy in Hillsdale.
Outscoring the Bobcats 11-8 in the third quarter, WCA was held to just four points in the final frame.
Jade Lown led the Bobcats with eight points, Hannah Root finished with six and Michaela Ultz and Chelsey Boyd both scored five for the Bobcats. Tori Everitt and Jade Summey added four points apiece and Ariel Schwemer registered two.
“The girls played hard even though we had a tough night shooting,” Burr Oak coach Jennifer Sutton said. “The girls made some nice adjustments defensively in the second half and we made some big free throws in the fourth quarter to escape with a victory after being cold from the line the whole game.”
Burr Oak was 2 for 10 from the stripe through three quarters and converted on 4 of 10 in the fourth quarter.
