Battle Creek St. Philip’s girls basketball team compiled an 11-point halftime lead Friday at Burr Oak and closed out the 45-30 victory in Southern Central Athletic Association action.
Jade Lown and Michaela Ultz led Burr Oak (1-4, 0-3) with eight and six points, respectively. Hannah Root, Ariel Schwemer and Tori Everitt each posted four points, and Jade Summey and Sydney Owens chipped in two apiece.
“Even though we fell to St. Phil, my girls played very well and gave it their all,” Bobcats coach Jennifer Sutton said. “Now we have to take what we did tonight and apply it [Saturday] vs. Tekonsha.”
Tekonsha was hammered by Colon Friday night, resulting in the Magi’s first win of the season.
