Burr Oak fell to 5-3 Friday after a a 44-34 loss on the road against Webberville. The Bobcats took a 22-20 lead into intermission but Webberville’s 14-point surge in the third quarter gave the home team enough breathing room to hold on for its third victory of the season.
A solid passing night by Burr Oak quarterback James Saylor netted 179 yards, a touchdown and one interception after completing 12 of 24 attempts. Chantz Owens rushed 14 times for 97 yards, Saylor added 69 yards and two scores on 17 carries and Alex Munoz rushed seven times for 30 yards before going down with an injury.
Brent Everitt (11 tackles), Arturo Hernandez-Gonzalez (nine) and Logan Mount (nine) led the Bobcats defensively.
