Burr Oak produced three players in double figures Tuesday in a 65-57 SCAA home boys basketball victory over Litchfield.
Zach Boyd erupted for 18 points and four rebounds, Braxton Hernandez kept pace with 17 points and three boards, and Caleb Brooks registered 11 points and five rebounds.
Ugly win, but no other team needed a win more than us,” Burr Oak coach Danny Schragg said. “We have been in a slump, so I am happy my guys came away with a ‘W’. We just came out flat and played down to their level. Had a strong third quarter but just kept playing lazy defense and let them get back in the game. Skylar Currier and Zach Boyd knocked down so big free throws for us in the fourth and we finally had three scorers in double digits. Hope we keep getting better and improve for Friday.”
Currier finished with six points and four rebounds, Noah Norton chipped in six points and five steals, Victor Carter ended the night with five points and four rebounds, and Armondo Beverly had two points and six rebounds.
Burr Oak is now 5-8 overall this year.
