For nearly every point the White Pigeon girls basketball team scored Friday night at Bronson there was a Chiefs turnovers — a ratio that will doom most squads.
And it did in the Vikings’ gym, with the host team running away with a 51-29 win.
The Chiefs (8-8, 1-4) turned the ball over 25 times in a contest where they were quickly in a 21-7 hole after the first quarter. Haley Miller made 4 of 6 field goals en route to a team-high 12 points for White Pigeon, but Bronson had too many weapons for the Chiefs to defend.
Alea Blevins scored 14, Liz Baker turned in 11 and Skyler Sobeski added nine for the Vikings.
Allie Bailey notched seven points for White Pigeon, followed by Riley Phelps (four), Sydney Harmon (four), Skyler DeMeyer (one) and Rachel Brock (one). Phelps led the team with three steals, Bethany Hagner blocked three shots and Miller hauled in nine rebounds.
