Seven boys basketball teams from within Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Cass counties competed in district championships Friday evening. Below are the results from those games.
District 14 at Loy Norrix
Gull Lake 48
The Blue Devils rallied from a double-digit hole to tie the Cardinals at 38-38 entering the fourth quarter. Coldwater would go on a 13-5 run in the latter stages of the game to hold off a feisty Gull Lake squad. The Blue Devils finish with a 10-13 record. The Cardinals will battle Okemos in Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. regional semifinal at Holt.
District 47 at Dowagiac Union

Paw Paw 39
The Wildcats won their third district title in four years with the narrow victory over their Wolverine Conference rival. Paw Paw closes the season at 6-15. Three Rivers moves to 11-11 and faces Unity Christian (21-2) in the 7:30 p.m. regional semifinal Tuesday at Wayland Union. Unbeaten Wolverine champ Otsego and one-loss Benton Harbor battle on the other side.
Finlay Tate led Paw Paw with 21 points.
For Three Rivers, Parker Ellifritz had 13 points, Jalen Heivilin and Bryce Morlan both finished with 12, and Nolan Marks and Gavin Charvat chipped in two apiece. Paw Paw had two chances with the possession tied at 39-39 with 41 seconds to play. Heivilin pulled down the rebound on the second shot attempt, hit Ellifritz on the outlet and Ellifritz found Morlan for an open look win the game.
District 78 at Marcellus
Cassopolis claimed their third straight district crown, putting them at 21-1 for the season. The Bulldogs close at 9-13. The Rangers meet Union City in the 7:45 p.m. semifinal Tuesday at Watervliet, which can be heard live via JoeInsider.com.
District 79 at Gobles
Schoolcraft was dominant, taking a 21-point lead into halftime and a 37-point advantage by the end of the third quarter. Freshman Ty Rykse had 20 points, including the first 17 Eagle points of the night. Kobe Clark added 11 points and 13 assists, pushing Schoolcraft to 19-4. The Eagles play Brandywine in Tuesday’s regional semifinal at 6 p.m. from Watervliet, which can be heard live via JoeInsider.com.

The Eagles scored 90+ points for the eighth time this season with Dylan Jergens getting his fourth 50+ point game with 52. Howardsville is back-to-back district champs and faces Tri-Unity Christian (19-3) in Tuesday’s regional semifinal at 5:30 p.m. from Mendon.
