In a triple overtime battle Friday night, Comstock escaped with a 63-62 boys basketball win at Mendon.
“Tough loss tonight, we had great effort all night, but just came up short with a game winner rolling off the rim,” said Hornets head coach Danny Schragg. “We had a good lead in the second half then just had some unforced turnovers to let them back in the game.”
The defeat drops Mendon to 8-13 and moves the Colts to 11-9.
“It was a battle for the next three overtimes, we missed some opportunities at the line but managed to stay in the game,” added Schragg. “Just a tough one overall, great effort from my kids tonight.”
Both teams are scheduled for Southwest 10 Conference crossover games Thursday with the matchups still to be determined. Comstock also hosts Decatur on Tuesday.
