Climax-Scotts won a tight 51-47 home boys basketball game Tuesday against divisional rival Athens.
Three pointers and free throws played a big role in the Panther victory. C-S made six triples compared to none from Athens, while also going 19-33 at the foul line compared to a 5-13 opposing mark. Josiah Kenney topped the Panthers with 17 points.
The win puts C-S at 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the SCAA West . They complete their first pass through the division with Friday’s trip to Bellevue.
Athens falls to 4-6 and 0-2 in division play with a Friday trip to Colon ahead.
