Burr Oak score 20 points over the last 5 minutes and 35 seconds to pass the Litchfield girls basketball team like a parked car Friday for a 55-45 win.
The Bobcats, after putting up only 23 points through the first three quarters, finished with a 32-point outburst in the final frame. They limited Litchfield to 10 over the last eight minutes.
Jade Lown led Burr Oak (7-13, 4-11 SCAA) with 16 points and Jade Summey registered 13, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter. Summey also had 21 rebounds in the effort, upping her season total to 285. She needs just nine more to break the school’s single-season record.
“The girls played a sluggish first half with a lot of mistakes,” Burr Oak coach Jennifer Sutton said. “I am really proud of the way they battled and played our best quarter of the season to come back and win the game. I was also really proud of our balanced scoring with four girls in double figures. It was a great way to send of four seniors on Senior Night.”
Both Tori Everitt and Michaela Ultz notched 10 points, Chelsey Boyd had four and Ariel Schwemer finished with two.
