An 11-point edge after the first quarter helped the Burr Oak boys basketball team cap the regular season with a 70-52 victory Saturday over Waldron.
Christian Eckert dumped in a game-high 28 points for the Bobcats and Kenny Walston and Logan Mount each piled on 12. Eckert drained four 3-pointers in the effort.
“We executed our game plan tonight by working the ball on offense and creating turnovers on the defensive end,” Bobcats coach Dave Brackett said. “This is how we want to play our last game getting ready for next week’s district game. Our guards pressured up front and everyone was in the passing lanes tonight. We need to work on our boxing out and not giving up any extra shots.”
Brent Everitt finished with eight points, James Saylor scored five, Chantz Owens added four and Alex Munoz made a free throw.
Walson, Eckert and Everitt led the team with two assists apiece, Mount and Everitt had eight and seven rebounds, respectively, and Eckert grabbed eight steals.
