2022 MHSAA State Track and Field Results

The 2022 MHSAA State Track and Field Championships were held Saturday with St. Joseph County sending multiple athletes to all four divisions.  One of those came away with a state championship in Colon’s Alexander Stoll.  His 14.92 mark made him the king of the 110m hurdles in Division 4.  Stoll also scored with a 6th in the 100m dash and competed in two other events.

By points scored, Three Rivers’ Kylin Griffin was the leader locally with 17 for the Wildcat girls in D2.  Griffin placed second in the 400m dash (57.60), third in the 100m (12.36), and sixth in the 200m (26.11).

Centreville’s Gabrielle Bowen secured a silver medal with a second in the 100m hurdles (15.69),   Taking bronze for the Constantine boys was the 4×400 relay of Julian Hawthorne, Charles Morris, Collin Featherstone, and Dean Topolski at 3:29.01.

Mendon’s Presley Allen earned all-state in both distance events, placing fourth in 1600m (5:14.26) and 5th in 3200 (11:22.16).  Centreville also took home a fourth with the 4×400 relay crew of Joshua Falkenstein, Ethan Miller, Jacob Falkenstein, and Tyler Swanwick (3:29.61).

Sturgis’ Korin Whitcomb scored a fifth place with a 5-06.00 high jump.  Constantine’s Topolski also added a fifth place to his day in the 400m dash.

Centreville’s 4×200 Relay of Tyler Swanwick, Joshua Falkenstein, Jacob Falkenstein and Dylan Coney took a seventh (1:32.93).  Individually, Isabella Kangas had a seventh place high jump (4-11.00) for the Bulldogs.  The Falcons also saw a seventh in the discus by Bennett VandenBerg (144-04).  And scoring for the Colon girls was Noemi Cester, eighth in the 3200m (11:56.94)
