Entering this week ranked No. 16 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division II poll, Glen Oaks’ men’s basketball team backed up that recognition Wednesday with a 96-71 home win over Kellogg.
The Vikings are now 20-3 overall and 11-1 (first place) in the MCCAA Western Division, having already secured a District 10 tournament berth.
“We were hitting on all cylinders tonight both offensively and defensively,” GOCC head coach Steve Proefrock said.
The Vikings, which pulled ahead by seven points at the end of the first half, got 27 points from Angelos Griffis, 22 from Quilyn Howard-Upshaw, a 21-point outing from Aundreayan Roberts and 12 from Aleksandar Antic.
Glen Oaks has just four league games remaining, with a trip to Muskegon on tap for Feb. 19.
