A big second quarter helped the Loy Norrix boys basketball team survive Tuesday’s trip to Stevensville Lakeshore and return home with a 45-38 victory.
Michael Hughes poured in a game-high 14 points, Steffon Dunigan scored eight, as did Jordan Larkin, and Yohaness Ademodi finished with six. Also contributing were Thomas Metcalfe (two) and DeAndre Worthy (two).
Hughes was 5-of-8 from the field. Loy Norrix was 17-of-30 as a team from the floor and 9-of-17 from the foul line. The Knights held a 9-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 25-15 at halftime.
Hughes also had a team-best five rebounds, while Larkin, Dunigan and Donquarius Miles each pulled down four. Miles led the team with seven assists and Worthy blocked three shots.
