Gull Lake 5, Plainwell 0 (game one)
Lauren Esman and Elena Chrisman combined for a 2-hit shutout, as Gull Lake defeated Plainwell 5-0.
Esman got the start, and the win for the Blue Devils, pitching four innings of no-hit baseball, while striking out 11 batters. Chrisman was strong in relief, pitching the final three innings while allowing only three hits. Chrisman had four strikeouts, giving the duo a combined 15 strikeouts, with no walks.
Shelby Martell had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run. Martell scored two runs, and also drew a walk.
Ashton Whitman and Chrisman also both had an RBI for Gull Lake, which struck early with two runs in the top half of the first inning. That would prove to be plenty of offense for Esman and Chrisman, who both consistently got ahead of the count. Esman threw a first-pitch strike to all 12 batters she faced, while Chrisman jumped ahead on 9 of the 13 batters she faced.

Gull Lake 6, Plainwell 3 (game two)
Gull Lake withstood a late Plainwell rally, holding on to a 6-3 win in game two, and completing the sweep.
The Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, then tacked on two more runs in the second inning. Gull Lake added some much-needed insurance with a three-run sixth inning. Plainwell was scoreless until the bottom half of the seventh, when a three-run inning fell short of a complete comeback.
Sonia Markucki earned the win for Gull Lake, pitching three scoreless innings. Shelby Martell was the plate-setter for the Gull Lake offense with two doubles from her leadoff spot. Martell scored two runs.
Lauren Esman finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ashlee Kramer, Ashton Whitman, and Kaitlyn Lord all tacked on an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Kalamazoo Christian 6, River Valley 0 (game one)
Jayme Koning pitched a complete-game shutout, as Kalamazoo Christian took game one from River Valley, 6-0.
Koning allowed four hits, and had a pair of strikeouts. She also helped her own cause with a home run, finishing the game 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and two runs scored.
Jill Rozeveld also added 2 RBI on a pair of hits, while Zoe Hazelhoff and Megan Snook each drove in one run. The Comets combined for 13 hits, including three extra-base hits.
The game was scoreless in the third inning, when the Comets got on the board with a pair of runs. Kalamazoo Christian added two runs in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth to build its lead.

Kalamazoo Christian 5, River Valley 2 (game two)
In game two, Kalamazoo Christian had to fight off an early deficit, but came away with a 5-2 win over River Valley to complete the sweep.
River Valley opened the game with a run in the top of the first, but the Comets were quick to answer with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. River Valley regained the lead with a run in the top of the second inning, but wouldn’t score again. Kalamazoo Christian, however, added a pair of runs in the third to take its first lead. The Comets padded the lead with runs in the fourth and fifth inning.
Sydney Duong homered for the Comets, finishing 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored, 1 RBI and a walk. She also proved dangerous on the base paths, with two stolen bases. Jayme Koning had 2 RBI, giving her 4 RBI on the day. Jill Rozeveld and Zoe Hazelhoff each brought in one run.
Hazelhoff got the win for Kalamazoo Christian, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts. Hazelhoff allowed five hits and issued one walk.

Colon 16, Loy Norrix 7 (game one)
Loy Norrix had a five-run first inning, but Colon responded with a vicious rally, coming away with a comfortable 16-7 win in game one.
Colon opened the scoring with a run in the top half of the first, and quickly answered the early strike from Loy Norrix with two runs in the second inning, and four runs in the third inning.
Sydney Tomlinson had a big game for the Magi, with 5 RBI on three hits (two singles and a triple), and four runs scored. Brenna Fisher had 3 RBI on two hits, while Desirae Martin added 3 RBI on two hits.
After a rough first inning, Maddelyn Fisher settled down in the circle. Fisher threw a complete game, and only allowed two runs the remainder of the game, with one run given up in the fourth inning and the final run allowed in the sixth inning.
The Knights were led by Karli Little, who had 2 RBI. Sierra Knight, Lauren Johnson and Callie Kilduff each added 1 RBI. Knight and Jahzara Ademodi both had doubles for Loy Norrix.

Loy Norrix 7, Colon 4 – three innings (game two)
In game two, Loy Norrix again found itself with an early lead. This time, the Knights wouldn’t let it go, coming away with a 7-4 win over Colon, earning a split of the doubleheader.
The Knights scored one run in the first and added six runs in the second inning. Colon started a rally with three runs in the third, but the game was cut short due to weather.
Jahzara Ademodi, Bethany Dunham and Lauren Johnson all hit doubles for Loy Norrix. Ademodi finished with a team-high 2 RBI. Dunham added one RBI, as did Vanessa Pueblo and Sierra Knight.
Pueblo was credited with the win, pitching all three innings for Loy Norrix.
Sydney Tomlinson and Brenna Fisher both had 1 RBI for Colon.

Paw Paw 12, Sturgis 2 (game one)
Paw Paw broke open a competitive ballgame with nine runs over the final three innings, to pull away from Sturgis, 12-2.
Kiley Weiderman drove in both runs for Sturgis, bringing home Baleigh Knapp and Carlie Watson. Sturgis was held to a pair of hits, but did draw four walks as well.

Paw Paw 9, Sturgis 1 (game two)
Sturgis fell behind early, and couldn’t generate enough offense for a rally, losing game two 9-1.
Paw Paw scored a pair of runs in each of the first three innings. Sturgis scored its lone run in the fifth inning, already trailing 9-0 at that point. Morgan Miller brought in the lone run, and finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate.
