Kalamazoo Christian flexed its muscle in the second half and rolled to a 63-34 victory over host Gobles Monday in a Class C boys basketball first-round district game.
The Comets will take on Kalamazoo Lakeside in Wednesday’s semifinal back at Gobles at 6 p.m.
Jordan Katje scored eight of his game-high 16 points in the third quarter, and Elliot Lemmer hit three 3-pointers en route to 15 points for the Comets. Sean Cummings reached double figures with a 13-point night, which included seven in the final period.
Noah de Jong finished with seven points, John Cramer and Ben Terpstra each had three, and Aaron Verkaik added two.
Karson Tackett led Gobles with 12 points and Tyler Stedman totaled 10.
