Kalamazoo Christian turned turnover into 20 points Tuesday in a 51-41 varsity boys basketball victory at Niles Brandywine.
It wasn’t a particularly good shooting night for the Comets, who finished just 19-of-53 from the field (35.8 percent) compared to Brandywine’s 15-of-32 effort (46.9 percent). But forcing 19 turnovers proved to be the difference for K-Christian.
Noah DeJong scored 17 points and pulled down six rebounds and notched a pair of assists to lead KC, while Jordan Katje finished with 12 points, 10 boards and two assists. John Cramer had eight points, Adam Ritsema recorded six, Elliot Lemmer had five, Sean Cummings scored two and Aaron Verkaik hit a free throw. Katje also totaled four steals and three blocks, and Cummings had three takeaways.
